Archery Range

Travis Hilfer Memorial Archery Range

Mandan Parks and Recreation was approached by a archery enthusiasts that wanted to see improvements to the Mandan Archery Range. The Park District worked in coordination with community volunteers to plan, design, and construct the new archery range.

Much of the funding for the project came in the form of donations from local businesses and grant funding. Several businesses have also offered non-monetary donations in the form of supplies and services.

The range has 14 targets with distances varying from 10–60 yards. There is a designated shooting line with bow and arrow holders. The old shooting platforms have been torn down, and a new 16 foot platform has been constructed. The size of the parking lot has also been increased. The community will benefit in a number of ways, but the most important is the added safety that the new range provides. This project is a perfect example of citizens telling the Park District what they want and helping make it happen.
