JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for generalized duties to support Mandan Parks and Recreation administration, marketing and recreation departments.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative
- Answer multi-line telephone system and direct phone calls through the District.
- Listens and types Mandan Parks and Recreation Park Board minute notes.
- Serves as the main contact for all facility reservations, recreation program registration and pass memberships.
- Provide exceptional customer service skills over the phone and in person, with our customers and internal departments.
- Manages the Vermont Systems point of sale and software upgrades.
- Manages walk in patrons at the Mandan Parks and Recreation administration office.
- Purchases supplies for the District.
- Manages and creates content for the District’s social media accounts.
- Assists the Community Engagement Manger with updating publications including Annual Report, Strategic Plan, Activity Guide and other traditional media.
- Assists the Community Engagement Manager with creating, designing and delivering appropriate branding content.
- Administrates the Monday Minutes.
- Serves as support for planning and coordinating Mandan Parks and Recreation’s Foundation.
Recreation
- Assists the Summer/School Year MAC Recreational Supervisor with school related tasks as needed.
- Applicant must be willing to sub at a school year MAC site if needed.
- Assist with printing and order of supplies for MAC sites.
- Serves as the main contact for correcting installment billings for MAC patrons.
- Assists the Recreation Supervisor on program related tasks.
- Assist with program schedules, standings, organizing results and shirt inventory.
- Manage the Babe Ruth portal.
Facilities
- Data entry for Facility maintenance binders.
- Staff, schedule and manage open gym.
- Staff, schedule and manage Legion Warming House.
- Manages all food vendor applications.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree in communication, marketing, design, business, recreation or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong creative, strategic, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of recreation and sports programs.
- Preferred but not required skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Highly motivated and takes initiative on projects with minimal supervision.
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- All candidates are subject to a background check and must pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
SUPERVISORY
This position may supervise part time staff.
WORK AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Most work is performed in an office setting. Occasionally it will require work outdoors. May occasionally have to lift light objects.
WORK HOURS
Most work hours are performed between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. Some instances will require work to be performed in the evenings or weekends.
